Prof. Arnrich, born 1976 in Meiningen, Germany, is a professor of digital health and head of the Digital Health - Connected Healthcare department at the Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam. His chair group researches the use of sensor and computer technology in healthcare. The focus is on the collection and analysis of health-related data in daily life.

Prof. Arnrich studied scientific computer science at the University of Bielefeld and received his doctorate in Data mining in Cardiac Surgery. He founded the research group Pervasive Healthcare at the Wearable Computing Laboratory of the research university ETH Zurich, which he headed until 2013. Until his calling in 2018 to the joint digital engineering faculty of the University of Potsdam and the Hasso Plattner Institute, he was a tenure track professor at the Bosphorus University in Istanbul and science manager at the management consultancy Accenture.
